Lindsey and David's wedding - Kirkley Hall - 18th of March 2017 - Wedding Photographer Newcastle

The day started well as there was no sign of the terrible wind that had occured the night before. Both David and Lindsey were very relaxed before the ceremony, which is always a good sign for a wedding. Lindsey was bang on time, if not a little early, and so the ceremony got started with out any delays and flowed through with ease.

After the ceremony, we began the group shots. There was 19 in all to do, which is way more than average, but we managed to get through them quite quickly, as the guests were in good spirits and were very attentive. I also had some help from the best man, in rounding them up.

After the group shots we bagan shooting the romantic shots with the car, so that the driver could get away. We then went and shot on the balcony at the back of the building as the rain began to fall. Having picked up an umbrella, we then went into the gardens and quickly shot some photographs there, before the rain got heavy. We just managed to get enough shots, before the wedding breakfast was about to start.

The speeches started on time and we got plenty of laughs, as well as some heart felt genuine words. Just the right length of speeches in my opinion, long enough to get important points across, but not too long, that guests are getting bored and hungry.

The cutting of the cake was also on time and was greeted with great enthusiasm from the guests. Nearly every guest took a picture of the bride and groom. It was one of the longest cutting of the cakes I have seen. It is nice to see guests get involved in this old custom, that some times seems to fade at a lot of weddings.

The first dance was very personal, as the couple held each other in a close embrace and moved slowly to the music. All the guests stood around and payed attention, which helped make this dance special.

All in all a great wedding. I can honestly say that nothing went wrong on the day and that David and Lindsey got the day they deserved. Good luck to them, and I hope they enjoy the rest of their evening party and their honeymoon.
